今朝はPortfolio Breakfastがありました♪
アメリカ人は朝食ミーティングが好き。夜は早く帰って家族でってか。写真に移ってるのは同僚のイタリア人ですが。
Beauty & Photo Agencyが自分の所に所属してるフォトグラファーのポートフォリオを持って来て、朝ご飯食べながら作品を見ておしゃべり。
Beauty & PhotoはNYとLAベースで５名のフォトグラファー、その他ヘアーメイクやスタイリストさんもいるこじんまりしたエージェンシー。なかなかいい人材が揃ってます。
ここでいつか一緒に仕事したいフォトグラファーはCarlos SerraoとRony Shram。

いや〜〜〜、ほんっとに素晴らしい舞台でした！！リンカーンセンターで行われた三島由紀夫原作の「金閣寺」。演出は宮本亜門、主演は森田剛、そして高岡蒼甫や岡本麗などの豪華キャスト。
内容は、とにかく、暗い。すんごい暗い…。
時代は戦後—森田剛演じる繊細な青年が生きる為の拠り所としていた「美」の象徴〜金閣寺。その美しさのあまり、自分の中の罪や葛藤に悩み苦しみながらも「生」を見つけて行く…、ってな暗くて重い内容でしたが、さすが宮本亜門演出！全く苦痛でない、逆に心地いい位の重さでどんどん舞台に引き込まれて行ってしまいました。
舞台は全編日本語で上演。英語訳が舞台上部のスクリーンに出ますが、主人公がどもりで喋る役だし、使われる日本語も結構難しかったので私も結構英訳に助けられました。
客席はもちろんソールドアウト。日本人以外の観客が多い事に作品の注目度の高さを感じました。
前に見た日本人率９割（もっと？）の某ミュージカル舞台とは違って、今回は一緒に行った目のこえたニューヨーカー達も大絶賛。(o^∇^o)
ミニマムな舞台装置であれだけの世界観を表現されてて本当に凄かった。去年見た蜷川作品のMUSASHIに続き、日本の舞台芸術のレベルの高さを誇らしく思いました！（って私は何もしてないけど。っw）

今年も行ってきました！でっかいクリエイティブ・コンベンションLe Book Presents Connections。今年はSOHOのイベントスペースで行われ、Honors Jean-Michel Basquiatで開幕。
Jean-Michel BasquiatはNY出身の80年代を代表するハイチ系アメリカ人画家。アンディ・ウォーホルに見いだされたバスキアは、デビュー前のマドンナと付き合って事もあるとか！
残念な事にウォーホルの亡くなった次の年にバスキアも27歳という若さで死去。彼の作品の数々は後のポップアートシーンに大きな影響を残しています。
彼の生涯が「バスキア」で映画化されてます。まだ見てない人、アート目指す人は必見の映画。ちなみにバスキア生誕50周年記念でドキュメンタリータッチの映画「バスキアのすべて」ってのも出てるらしい。見なきゃ！
話がそれたけど、そんでそこのLe Book Presents Connectionsってイベントが毎年この時期に一回行われるんです。主催はクリエイティブ業界のアーティスト情報カタログ、Le Bookを発行する出版社。
世界中のクリエイティブエージェンシーが自分たちのアーティストを紹介するチャンス！私も仕事柄、しょっちゅうPhotographerやHair & Make Up、Fashion Stylist、Production、Illustraorなどを選出してプロジェクトごとに雇わさせて頂いています。
なので私みたいなアートディレクターや、広告代理店のAD、アパレルのCreative担当などが招待されて、各アーティストと実際に会って話したり、エージェントから売り込みしてもらうんです。
二日間続けて開催され、昼からスピーチやプレゼンが行われてるらしいけど、やっぱメインは仕事の後の６時以降！ビールやワイン、シャンパンなど振る舞われて大盛り上がり。
胸には会社名と肩書き＆名前の名札を下げてるので、エージェントの目が怖いです。（笑）音楽〜ファッション系のフォトグラファーがいるエージェントなんか飛びついて来て作品のプレゼンされます。
次はどこ見よう、とボーっとしてたら「シャンパン飲む？？」とか声かられて着いていって飲みながら話を聞く。仕事の話しなきゃなのにすっかり酔っぱらいですわ。（￣ー￣）
毎年ビニョーに参加してるエージェンシーが違うので面白い。今年のヒットはロンドンベースのイラストレーションのエージェンシーDutch Uncle。日本のイラストレーターが数多く所属してて、かなりレベル高かったです。是非今度一緒に仕事がしたい！LAベースのOPUSは西海岸の撮影時にはかなりお世話になってます♪
久しぶりに会ったエージェントも沢山いて、まさにThe Connection。その他London, Paris and Humburgなどでも開催される様ですよ〜。

久しぶりにめずらしくBrooklynのWilliamsburgに行ってきました！お友達のシンヤ君がギャラリーgraphiteをオープンしたのです。シンヤ君自身もアーティスト活動をする一方、日本のアーティストを紹介して行こう！と言う素敵なコンセプトでオープンしたgraphite。今回はNY在住のアーティストHiroki Otsuka氏の個展で、元プロ漫画家だった彼のエロかわいいジャパニーズな絵を見に来た人でギャラリーは大賑わい。そしてなんと金魚すくいまであって、気分は日本の夏（NY最近涼しいけど）。今後も色々なアーティストをフューチャーしていくgraphiteに注目です。皆一度足を運んでみましょー！
My friend Shinya opened a new gallery “graphite” in Williamsburg, Brooklyn! The opening show was Hiroki Otsuka‘s Japanese ero manga illustration. Cute manga art got “Japanese sneered”. 🙂 The best part was Kingyo Sukui which is “goldfish scooping”. Scooping with thin rice paper is not easy but some girls got a few for dinner. (I’m kidding). 太陽が沈んだ後でも出来るスポーツと言えばダーツやビリヤード、卓球、ボーリングなど。それらを楽しむ人達をにフォーカスした新しいPumaの広告キャンペーン『深夜のアスリート』。夜中に活動するアスリートもいるんだぜ、って着眼点が面白い。
スポーツブランドの広告で多いのは、恰好良くマラソンしてたり、楽しそうにバスケして汗流してたりするけど、ハッキリ言ってスポーツしない人には伝わりにくいメッセージが多い。でもダーツや卓球ならお遊び程度にするって人は結構いると思う。『深夜のアスリート』は特にスポーツをしない私の様なグータラ人間にも届く、一般常識のアスリートの範囲を超えたキャンペーンで、私のハートはがっちり掴まれた。
ちなみにPumaはキャンペーンと同時にPuma Social ClubをマンハッタンのSouth Sea Portにオープンしてクラブイベントを開催したりして盛り上がってる模様！NYはラウンドワンみたいな、なーんでも入ってて夜中もやってる複合スポーツ施設ってないのでPumaにも是非ラウンドワン目指して頑張って欲しいっす。
広告の制作はカンヌなどでも常連のNYの広告代理店Droga5。Droga5のECD Ted Royerは私がNYに引っ越して来て以来のクサレ縁の親友。今回はUKのトップCMディレクターRingan Ledwidgeと共に二日間寝ないでNY中を駆け回って撮影したらしく、なんか見た事あるバー達がウヨウヨ。去年のTedの誕生日をそこのバーでやったような？ボーリングは爪が割れるから好きじゃないけど、ピンポンとカラオケなら朝まで汗流せますっ！

すごおぉーーーーく良かった！！！と感動した！！故•井上ひさし作、蜷川幸雄演出による舞台劇「ムサシ」を先週NYのリンカンセンターに見に行って来ました。ストーリーはあの巌流島の闘いから６年後、佐々木小次郎は死んでいなかった…、仇討ちや決闘など恨みの鎖を切る事は出来るのか…。
主演は藤原竜也で、この３人が舞台をやるなら絶対にいいに決まってる、と確信してたけど、予想以上の出来で感激。シンプルだけど細かい演出がなされてる舞台デザイン、３時間以上の舞台でも客をあきさせない演出、何よりも「生と死」について故•井上ひさし氏の深いメッセージはとても胸に響きました。ロンドン、NY公演は終わったけど、また機会があったら見たい~。DVDも出てるみたいだけど、やっぱ舞台は生で見ねばです。
ディナーはショーの前にダニエルさんのレストランBar Bouludで。さすがアッパーウエストサイド、品のいいブロンド率高かったわ。ショーの後は、チズ夫Jimmy Helton氏の映画のスクリ−ニングがSOHOハウスで行われてたので、アフターパーティに合流。ルーフトップのプールサイドで美味しいアップルマティーニを頂きました♪
I had an early dinner at Bar Boulud one of Daniel’s restaurants right front of Lincoln Center before the play “MUSASHI”. The dinner was great and we were surrounded by upper west side blond people. 🙂 Anyway, the show was amaaaaaazing!!! We got the tickets in Feb so I was waiting for this day forever! The story and the stage design were fantastic and the message was deep “How to break the cycle of resentment…” They played in Japan, London then came to NY. I’d definitely wants to see that again if I have a chance. Here is New York Times review.
We headed to Soho House for an after party of a screening of Jimmy Helton’s movie. I missed the screening (sorry!) but enjoyed the roof top bar and apple martinis!

先日 featuring Robert Mapplethorpeで開幕した毎年恒例のクリエイティブコンベンション、Le Book Connections。今年は会場はSOHOに戻り２日間に渡ってPhotoエージェンシーのプレゼン、更に今年から始まったLe Book Productionsにはホテルやスタジオ、プロダクション関係が一斉に集まって合計４日間のお祭り（？）でした。普段一緒にお仕事をしてるエージェントやフォトグラファー達と久しぶりに顔を合わせられるいい機会なので私は仕事帰りに２日間参加。
６時からはシャンパンやワインのオープンバーもあるので飲みながらフラフラ〜。皆会社名と名前の入った大きなネームカードを下げているので呼び止められては、売り込み中のフォトグラファーやロケーションの作品を見ながらお喋り。プロダクションナイトの方には我らが利き酒師チズコも獺祭の協賛を得て、獺祭スパークリングを大量投入！初めて飲むスパークリング酒に感動したアメリカ人達は何度もおかわりしに来ていました♪９時にイベントが終了した後は毎晩違うバーやクラブでアフターパーティ。LeBookのサトシ君にも色々紹介して頂いてお世話になりました。ありがとう！このイベントはNY、パリ、ロンドン、ハンブルクで行われてるので、是非違う都市で遊びに行ってみたいモノです♪
Le Book Connections festival week started last week for 4 days in Soho, New York. Robert Mapplethorpe was featured for this year’s Le Book! The location went back to Soho Puck Building in Soho which I much prefer than the Chelsea one because of the location and there are no stairs inside to look around.
It’s always great to meet reps in parson since we mostly talk on the phone. We often work together but we never seen in parson even the project is over…:( such a modern day working style! I visited the event for the photographer’s and the productions’ for 2 days. Love the productions’ a lot especially finding out about new hotel deals and the overseas locations were amazing!! Hope they’ll do the production ones next year again.

カワイイ！女の子を描くイラストレーターさん集団 The Blue Rose Illustration groupがNYに集結してエキシビジョンを行いました！六本木でも行われたこのイベント、今回はNYのミッドタウンにあるExcy ギャラリーで行われました。昔なつかしのほんわか、でもお目目キラキラパッチリのユカチンさんの絵がとてもかわゆかったです。オープニングだったのでライブペイントショーもあり、ワインにお寿司に盛り上がっていました。お友達の茜ちゃんのイラストもあったので、茜ちゃんとExcyのオーナーのジュミさんと記念撮影♪ジュミさんのExcyサロンはレーザー脱毛がメインで、日本人スタッフが親切に対応してくれます。女子は夏が始まる前に行くべし！
I went to an opening of The Blue Rose Illustration group show at Excy Gallery. Blue Roses is a group of 18 illustrators and up-and-coming artists who have been creating “Girls Illustration”. There were so many Japanese illustrators came to NY for the event and did a live painting too. There were loads of drinks, snacks and great sushi! I really had a good time. 😀 Excy is a Japanese laser hair removal in Midtown. You gotta get your hair done before the summer starts!

チェルシーのギャラリーでThe New Grand Tourのオープニングに行って来ました。Chamagraphyのクミの旦那様Davi Russoの写真や、チズ夫ジミさんの映像、韓国系米国人アーティストのYoung KimのプロジェクトSuitmanなど面白いアートが盛り沢山。個展は７月１７日までチェルシーのBryce Wolkowitz Galleryで開催中。お見逃しなく。
イベントの後はお洒落ピーポーが集まるミートパッキングのスタンダードホテルのBoom Boom Roomでアフターパーティ。リストに名前が入ってないと延々と待たされるNYのクラブの中でもここは２番目に入るのが困難と言われてるそう。マンハッタンやNJをほぼ360度で見渡せて景色がキレイ〜！ド派手なバーとライティングがバブリーでちょっとべガスのホテルを思わせるNYにはあまりないタイプのホテルバーで美味しいストロベリーマティーニを頂きました。
I went to The New Grand Tour opening reception at Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery in Chelsea! There were Davi Russo‘s photography, Jimmy Helton‘s movie, Young Kim‘s Suitman project and more. All the art was really enjoyable and fun. I love how NY offers great art exhibitions all the time. We went to an after party at Boom Boom Lounge at Standard Hotel in Meatpacking. The view from the lounge was so amazing and romantic. Oh, and I had a great strawberry martini. 🙂

そして最近食べ物ネタばっかりなので、たまには仕事も載せようかと…。なにせ極秘情報が多い環境で仕事してるので簡単に仕事ネタをアップ出来ないのですよねーん。でもこれは前に作ったフェザーロゴ。アダムのロゴ様に作ったけどボツった。羽を一個一個付け足していく作業は大変だったけど快感に近かったです。でもお気に入りのデザインや手をかけた物ほどボツるってのがデザイナーのジンクスですが、何時間もかけて作った我が子はかわいい物です！いつか日の目を見ます様に…と願ってしまう。（笑）下は2nd アルバムをレコーディング中のバンド The White Tie Affairの新しいロゴ。前のロゴからガラッと変えてみました。
I feel like this blog is turning into a food blog so here is some of my work! Yes, I am working. 🙂 I am working in a super high security environment so can’t really post anything that are still secret for the company. I made this logo for Adam Lambert but it wasn’t used so it’ll just stay in my portfolio… I really enjoyed adding a little feather on the each typeface and felt like I was addicted to add the feathers… The 2nd image is a new logo for The White Tie Affair. The 2nd album is coming soon!

週末はドアを開けたら鉄人28号のいるアパートでのお好み焼きパーティに行って来ました！ADC NYで入賞された電通のコピーライター倉成さんや、702デザインの大杉さんなどを囲んで山芋たっぷり激ウマお好み焼きを頂きました。本当世界で活躍する日本人の多さに感動します。
アパートのオーナーのMatthew WaldmanはNookaというブランドラインを持つ日本をこよなく愛するアーティストです。大人気の腕時計シリーズやベルト、ラップトップスキンなど欲しい物ばかり…！Matthewは東京•南青山にもオフィスがあり、日本に行く度におもちゃコレクションが増えているそう。鉄人28号はその一つで日本から持ってきたそうです。でかー！
I had a great night at Okonomi-Yaki (Japanese pancake) Party with lots of Japanese artists at Nooka‘s Matthew Waldman‘s place! There is a huge Tetsujin 28go right front of the entrance and were so many cute Japanese toys and arts. Matthew makes really cool watches and the collection of Nooka is all so cool kawaii! You can buy Nooka at Nooka.com and some of the collection at MOMA Store. I think I wanna buy the laptop skin. 🙂 It’s perfect for a gift too!

Flower Travellin’ Bandが格好良すぎて今クラクラしています。あの事業仕分けにも参加してた内田裕也プロデュースで1970年にデビューした日本のバンドなんだけど、かーーーーーーーーっこいぃぃぃぃ！！！（ジャケもかっこよすぎ！）一番かっこいいのはSATORI ll (YouTube)という曲は必見必聴。日本にこんな凄いグラムバンドがいたなんて。ボーカルのジョー山中さんめっちゃアフロだし！象に乗ってるし。私が生まれる前のバンドだけど、今ももっと評価されてていいんじゃないか？デイビッドボウイも絶賛したらしいじゃん。当時はロックを英語で歌うのか日本語で歌うのかって論争があったらしいけど内田裕也は英語でやろうと『Rock’n Roll (と言ったかは不明ですが）』決めたらしい。
たまたまアメリカ人同僚が見つけて、このジャパニーズバンド知ってる？って言って来たのがキッカケ。今ウチの部署全員でハマってます。各オフィスから大音量で流れてくるフラワートラベリンバンド。金曜日にふさわしい！Make Up (YouTube)と言うシングルは日立のCMソングだったらしいよ。サイケでグラムでロックで、でも所々東洋的で全曲鳥肌もんです。
最近再結成したらしいけどどうなんだろう…？？ストーンズとか色々おじさんバンド頑張ってるんだから日本のおじさんになっちゃったバンドも頑張ってほしいです。沢田研二率いるタイガースとかさ、グループサウンズもこの際もっと再結成してほしい〜。ちなみにボーカルのジョー山中さんはジャマイカと日本のハーフだそうです。
I have to introduce this crazy cool Japanese rock band “Flower Travellin’ Band”. They were big in the 70’s. The Producer is Yuya Uchida who is a god (kami) of rock music in Japan. It was rare to sing in English in Japan that time but Yuya decided to go in English with the vocalist Joe Yamanaka. I think the most popular song is SATORI ll but my favorite song is Make Up. I love the album cover!!!
BTW, Yuya Uchida is a father-in-low of Masahiro Motoki the main guy in the movie “Departures” – 2009 Oscar Winner for Best Foreign Film. Motoki married Yuya’s daughter because he admired Yuya so much so he adopted his wife’s surname to be Masahiro Uchida. Anyway, my friend Edward and I are trying to get more music of the band now. 🙂

寒くって来るとパーティシーズン到来！と言う感じがするNYですが、周りに新型インフル感染者が続々と出て来てて怖いです…。なんとかくぐり抜けてますが、へんな咳がもぅ３週間も止まらなくてヤーな感じ。
イーストビレッジのBowery HotelでMichael LavineのPhoto Book出版パーティがあったので行って来ました。うちも良く撮影でお世話になってるマイケルはミュージックフォトグラファーとしてグランジをベースにした写真を長年取り続けてきてそれが一冊の本として出たのです。かっくいいですよ〜。コーヒーテーブルに是非一冊。パーティはおサレさんで混み混み楽しかったのですが、問題はかかってる音楽がグランジって事でした。わたくしグランジとか聞かないからウルセ〜！ってなって長居出来ませんでしたわ。

懐かしー！と子供時代を思い出させる蔦谷喜一さんのエキシビジョンのオープニングに行ってきました。金曜なのに仕事が押せ押せで、間に合わないかと思ったけどイベントが終わる１５分前に到着！ぎりぎり間に合った〜。どうせ週末も仕事してるんだからいっぱいやり残してきました。
つたやきいちさんの1945〜1965年頃の塗り絵がメインで、私はもちろん生まれてなかったはずですが、昭和な感じがしてちょっとタイムスリップした気分でした。私の母の年代の幼少期の塗り絵だと思うんですが、そういえば子供の時母が書いてくれる女の子の絵ってこんな目をしてた記憶があります。なんて思ってたらちょっとホームシックに…。うる。いくつか購入出来る絵もあるみたいなので、ぜひ額に入れて家に飾りたいです！
I went to a Japanese colouring art of Kiichi Tsutaya exhibition opening in Chelsea. Kiichi’s nurie were extremely popular in Japan from 1945 – 1965 and have continued to be treasured by the Japanese, even after almost 50 years, as their favourite nurie. My mom grew up with his nurie art and I also remember seeing them when I was little. It was super kawaii and sexy!
Their popularity can be attributed to the nostalgia for the fashion and lifestyle of that era that is skilfully depicted in the exquisite contours of the Japanese-style brush strokes and in the distinct sense of balance between the nurie and the blank space on the paper, as well as the originality of the art that depicts ubiquitous beauty through the unique faces, expressions and mannerisms of these adorable little girls that transcend time, making Kiichi’s coloring pictures the most beautiful Nurie in the world. concept of kawaii, or cuteness. – artlog

オフ•ブロードウェイのFuerza Brutaを２回目見て来ました！何度見ても感激です！ユニオンスクエアーの小さなシアターで常に立ちっ放しで観ます。舞台は動くし壁も変わるし、天井から下がってくる透明のプール（？）はまるで別世界です。プールには４人のダンサーが水の中で走ったり踊ったりしていて、下からずっと見上げます（首痛い）だんだん下がってくるので、ガラス越しに触る事も出来ます♪。終わりの方では会場はクラブ化し、観光客のおじさんもおばさんも皆踊りまくってました。水がすごい降って来るので皆ビショビショに…。台詞などないので、英語のわからない人でも120％楽しめるショーです。ウェブサイトはコチラ。
I saw Fuerza Bruta in Union Square last weekend. It was really amazing!! The casting was great and music and dance….everything was so perfect. Very artistic but still very entertaining. There is no seats so we move around as the stage moves around. My neck was a bit tired because you are looking up the ceiling that 4 girls are jumping around above you in a pool. All of us including tourists, grandma & grandpa started dancing towards to the end and the venue became a crazy fun club!

LeBookコネクションに行って来ましたー。フォトグラファー、イラストレーター、ヘアー、メイクなどのエージェンシーが一同に集まって、クライアントと直にお話したりアーティストを紹介したり、などコンベンションみたいなイベントです。一年に一回の大イベントなので、各エージェンシー自分のブースには食べ物やらシャンパンやら準備して人寄せ頑張ってました！６時からはカクテルタイム！ほろ酔いでお話もはずみます。
クライアントは青いストラップの名札をつけて、会社名、役職書かれてます。エージェントは黒、フォトグラファーは黄色と一目で分かる仕組み。普段フォトグラファーやヘアーさんと直接仕事をする機会は多くても、彼らのエージェントとは電話での仕事がメインなので何度も話してるのに実際に会った事がないケースが結構あります。『おぉ、あなたがフーコね！』みたいな事だらけで結構楽しい。
そのウチのひとつが世界各国のイラストレーターをレップしてるCWCインターナショナルさん。お世話になったのにも関わらず、ちゃんとお会いした事ありませんでした。いまやネット社会、最後まで顔会わせずに仕事完結してしまうんですね〜。CWCさんのスウェーデンのイラストレーターStina Perssonとアレサフランクリンの仕事で以前お世話になりました。最近は日本のバンタン専門学校のイラストレーターをアメリカのマーケットに紹介してるそうです。なかなか素敵でした。今まだ公表出来ませんが、大物アーティスト２人のアート担当する事になったので、何人かめぼしい人も発見♪。
I went to LeBook event Connection in Chelsea with my friend Lily last night. I often work with photographer and hair/make agents but it’s rear for me to meet them in parson so the event brings people to really connect in parson and I really think that’s great! Clients have a blue strap on your name card, the agents have it in black and photographers have it in yellow so you can recognize people by the name tag easily.
I’ve worked with a Swedish illustrator Stina Persson from CWC International in the past for Aretha Franklin project. I’m big fan of her painting and looking forward to working with her again. CWC now also represent Japanese artists from Vantan Art School in Japan. Talented people!

トライベッカまで同僚やダーリンと仕事がてら+タダ酒飲みにフォトグラファーJim Fiscusの”The Unfortunate Moment of Misunderstanding“のエキシビジョンのオープニングパーティに行って来ました。いや、ちゃんと写真も見ましたよ。結構良かったんですけど、展示数が少ないから１０分もあれば見終わっちゃうんだもん！テラスがあったので霧雨の中ひたすら飲んでました…。私の気取った写真はブルックリンラガーを飲みながら、『お腹すいたなー、帰ろうよー』と訴えてる様子。この後ガッツリ天丼食べました♪
I went to an exhibition opening for Jim Fiscus “The Unfortunate Moment of Misunderstanding” at M Project Gallery in Tribecca last night. It was pretty amazing.. “A fine art photographic tale expressed through an integration of photography and computer generated imagery”. I also enjoyed their amazing terrace with Brooklyn beers as much as the art!

チェルシーでチャリティ•サイレントオークション One Image に行ってきました！サイレントオークションとは、壁に飾ってるアートの横に値段と名前を書き込む紙が貼ってあって、そこにスタート金額が書かれてるので、希望額を書き込みます。そしてイベントの最後に一番高い値段を書き込んだ人がご購入！となるのです。イベント中頃でも書き込まれてるのはせいぜい300ドル位。600〜1000ドルスタートとかこんな不景気に誰も書き込んでいませんでしたよー。ちなみに一番うえの写真はあのマイケルトンプソンの作品2000ドルから。（20万円位？）誰か買ったのかなぁ？でっかくて素敵でした！
I went to a charity silent photography auction One Image last night in Chelsea. Some really nice photographs but I thought the starting bid was a bit high especially in this economy! I didn’t stay until the end so not sure how much people ended up spending though. I’ve been to Sandbox silent auction and felt like they do much better and more fun. Sandbox has a party area with a DJ and more drink bars so everyone gets drunk and go back to the art area to bid more money!

I love this cool Darth Vader helmet, which my good friend Mark at ilovedust has made. Ilovedust has also made beautiful logos for Beyonce and helped me on loads of other projects. Really amazing designers and also fun drinkers!!

I believe that lots of people love a man or woman in uniform, but Japanese people go crazy for them. And their love even has evolved into “CosPlay”. Well, this is not about CosPlay…my friend Mana at TIMEMACHINE Labo has a new book called “Men in Uniforms“! There are cops, waiters, chefs and a car driver. You say “Moeeeee” in Japanese when you see something hot like this! She’s also published “Men in Glasses”, “Men is Suits” and “Prince Dictionary”.
制服男子…、美しい男子 in ユニフォームな写真集「制服男子」がお友達のマナたんのタイムマシーンラボから出ました！（遅い？）ウエイター、コンビニ店員、タクシードライバーが登場とまさに鼻血モノですねぇ。私は個人的にはお医者さんが…、いや、まあいいけどNYのUPSの茶色い制服もいいね！その他「メガネ男子」「スーツ男子」「王子辞典」なんてのも出ちゃってるそうです！

My friend Josh Cheuse is an incredible photographer/art director who has shot everybody in the 80’s from The Clash, Madonna, Oasis to Run DMC…and more more more. His new photography book is now out and it’s called “Rockers Galore”. It’s absolutely beautiful, great for your collection and a perfect gift for music lovers as well!

Aoi Nishimata has been picked to represent Japan in an upcoming Star Wars art book which will contain art from over 100 illustrators. She Is knows as an Eroge illustrator and I don’t hate it but I wanted to see Tetsuo Hara (Fist of the North Star) version of Star Wars instead!
エロゲイラストレーター西又葵さんがスターウォーズのイラストレーションブックに日本代表で参加するそうな。もう１人日本から参加するらしいけど誰だかまだ不明。漫画ファンの私としては、北斗の拳の原哲夫氏に書いて欲しかったなー！黒場の多い絵…、そして分厚い眉毛に暑い眼差しのヨーダが見たいっす！

After spending 80 hours for FF12, I still don’t understand who the main character was. OK, maybe it doesn’t matter but what happened to Rosaria and Orcuria after Vein is gone? There is no bonus movie of Ashe’s coronation after our 80-hour journey? It was the worst FF game!!
Bad Points
• The first town is tooooo big. Walking around and wandering to get to a destination is a pain in the ass.
• The close-range weapons can never hit flying monsters. So annoying…
• Too many sub characters. I can’t tell who it is since all the judges are wearing the masks!!
• when the player changes a target, it has to recharge the power from the beginning!!!
• No battle scene music… 😦
• Chocobo, too slow!!
Good Points
• great variety of the weapons
• Gunbit system. Interesting.
• MP goes up automatically by walking around.
• Field battle system (amazing!!!)
-Vaan
Vaan originally supposed to be the main character is just being like a guest character…. Why was he traveling with the party? Also there are not enough stories about his brother and Vaan, I almost forgot about his brother!
And the voice actors were awful.
-Penelo
One of the biggest mysteries is Pannero traveling with the party. She is supposed to be a positive tomboy type of girl but she is actually super negative and shy and she can’t even talk to the other members.
-Balthier
He kept saying “I’m the main character” in the game so it almost made me to believe it after while.
-Fran
She dresses like a transsexual fucker but she is actually very depressed old woman. Sometimes being out of control.
-Basch
My favorite character. Strong and loyal. I like his hair long.
-Ashe
The most Incomprehensible princes in the FF history.
At the ending, shouting out “BARUFUREAAAAAA” was ….. ???? What’s wrong with her? Wasn’t she chasing Rasta who died for the country?? OK, she is over it now so suddenly she is in love with Balthier? Yes, that’s what all of us/women do.
I hope 13 is much better than this.
